Dear Brother & Sister ILA Members Our past conference and trade show in Willowbrook, Illinois, went very well. We had 64 class participants learning the latest technology, exhibitors with 45 tables showing the very latest in security products at our Friday trade show. On Wednesday, we started off the day with a school bus ride at 7:45 am to the Rixson plant for a 1 ½ hour factory tour. There we saw how all the Rixson products are manufactured, assembled and tested. Before the tour ended we stopped by the work station and saw an employee with over twenty years at the plant assemble and test two Rixson floor closers from start to finish in less than fifteen minutes. After the tour we had a 1 ½ hour class on the installation of Rixson products and where and why these products should be used. We had lunch at the plant and after our lunch we all received the Rixson #185 Quick Spotter and #2604 Pivot Locator installation tools with three installation DVDs. Then we hurriedly boarded the bus again so that we could return to the hotel in time for our afternoon classes, but we almost left Dan McGlynn behind. That didn’t happen thanks to Rick Duskiewicz seeing Dan running after the bus! At this conference we also received two new Corporate Members: Gregory Waugh with Pacific Lock Company and Jon Early with The Spargo Group At this year’s General Membership meeting we had our elections for President, Secretary, and three Directors. Since the previous officers all ran unopposed, they were reelected and will serve on the Executive Board for two more years. President Kurt Kloeckner, CJIL, TCPL; Secretary Karen Strohmeyer, CIL; Director Victor Lewis, CJIL; Director Don O’Shall, CMIL, CPL; Director Dan McGlynn, CML, CJIL; and Associate Member Representative Wes McKenney,CIL Ronald G. Frei, CJIL, CPL was appointed the Newsletter Editor. Ron is looking for your help with information and articles that he can use for our Key Issues. Please send all your information and articles to Ron Frei at freifamily@cox.net. At our 2008 ILA National Educational Conference and Trade Show we will be celebrating our 25 th Anniversary. This will be handled by John Truempy, CJIL, CRL, and the conference committee. This conference will be held in the Secaucus, New Jersey.
